The Gate Must Stand Wiki

Hold the line. Defend Belrak. Master every run.

The Gate Must Stand is a dark fantasy roguelite that fuses tower defense route planning with Survivors-like action combat. You command a hero on the battlefield while deploying followers and fences to funnel demonic hordes away from Belrak's last gate. Heroes can fall and return; the gate cannot.

This wiki covers everything from your first run to meta level 7, including follower synthesis mechanics, purple gem economy, five-minute boss cycles, relic evolution paths, and map-specific fence strategies. All subpages are in English with deep guides, tier lists, and searchable databases.

Whether you are stuck on a boss timer, confused about tavern merge upgrades, or hunting all 80 Steam achievements, start with our beginner guide or jump directly to the section you need below.

Popular searches: gate defense guide, follower synthesis, best build, boss timer, purple gems, meta progression, Melina gravity build, relic tier list.

Wiki FAQ

Is this an official wiki?

No. thegatemuststand.wiki is an independent community resource. For official support, visit the Steam community hub or developer Discord.

Does the gate really end the run instantly?

Yes. Ally followers can be rebuilt after death, but gate destruction ends the current run immediately. Defense planning is the highest priority skill.

Where should I start?

Read the Beginner Guide, then Gate Defense and Follower Synthesis. Most new players lose runs to gate damage before DPS problems.

Are boss relics always worth the risk?

Not always. Relics can evolve followers into ultimate forms, but some carry downsides. See our Relic Tier List and individual boss pages.

Is there co-op?

Not at launch. The developer roadmap mentions upcoming co-op. See our Roadmap section for details.
